Fitness and Nutrition
Fitness and Nutrition at Family Wellness and Yoga are achieved through personal training, family nutrition education, and group classes. We have a specific system that we follow that will allow your muscles to recover and will push you to maximize your time and gain the best possible results. We are big advocates on focusing on balance and wellness. We focus on safety, program design, proper body mechanics, and technique. We strive to educate our clients on using proper form to reduce and eliminate injury or pain. Every workout is customized and different. We combine our workouts with the use of free weights, machines, functional training equipment, stretching, and much more.
We make working out and fitness fun
Whether you are looking to lose weight, improve overall health, enhance flexibility, and/or enhance cardiovascular health; we will encourage your goals. We inspire the entire family to work out. We make workouts for kids fun by adding games, relay races, competitions, and obstacle courses. For adults, we work with you to simply feel good. We are big advocates of functional strength, mobility, and flexibility.
Do you participate in sports?
Sport Specific Training is essential for developing your overall game. At Family Wellness and Yoga, we enhance your overall game by implementing agility (ladder drills, cone drills, etc.), linear (running technique and mechanics, backward pedaling, running technique, jumping skills), and lateral training (agility ladder, lateral hops, jumps, bounds, etc.). We work with our clients to improve posture, stopping form, acceleration, and flexibility (range of motion for sport). It is imperative to enhance overall relative strength and power. We take pride in teaching our clients how to improve muscular strength and endurance through bodyweight movements (i.e. pushups, squats, pull-ups, etc.). In addition, we educate our clients on controlling center of gravity and base of support. Our clients get to enhance overall cardiovascular conditioning through our dynamic circuit training system. Each session is geared toward maximizing every movement and lift with the best technique and execution possible. We work with youth, collegiate, and professional athletes. We have experience working with many sports including ice hockey, figure skating, baseball, football, lacrosse, volleyball, soccer, basketball, equestrian, etc.
The purpose of family nutrition is to empower everyone to develop healthy eating habits. Family nutrition is great for everyone. It helps to develop key habits that enhance mood, energy, and overall wellness. Family nutrition will inspire the family to:
